Yacopsae

Yacopsae was created in August 1990 in Hamburg, Germany, when Stoffel (Guitare / Chant) met Pattex (Battery) in a squat. After a discussion, both decided to set up an ultra fast hardcore band inspired by bands like Napalm Death, D.R.I. , Satanic Malfunctions , Nunfuckers and many others. Not wishing to have a brutal name like many other bands of style, Yacopsae comes to them by deriving the name Jakob in an unusual way. Many rehearsals followed and their first concert was given in January 1991. A first demo was launched the same year with 21 tracks. Yacopsae struggled to defend her on stage, but Pattex decided to leave the band in 1992 because he did not like musical orientation. Stoffel then asked his friend Emu of Punk-Hardcore Derider's group to join him. Yacopsae performs numerous concerts in Germany, Austria or the Netherlands and regularly releases splits with bands such as Noiseslaughter, Active Minds, Inner Conflict or Vaseline. In January 1996, Frank, the bassist of Sargagel joined the duo and their first real album was released in 1998: Fuck Punk Rock... This Is Turbo-Speed-Violence . In 2001, Yacopsae continued to grow in violence with Einstweilige Vernichtung while actively participating in the German Hardcore scene, whether through concerts or numerous appearances on compilations, splits or eps of any kind. In 2006, the Discorography compilation was released, with two albums gathering all of Yacopsae's titles released since 1991, i.e. more than 150 songs scattered on different albums, eps or compilations. Their latest album Tanz, Grosny, Tanz... , which goes ever further in musical extremism appears in 2007 and makes them talk more widely. The following year, Yacopsae released Pop-Punk Alienation, an album of covers of Rock songs, in a Powerviolence version. There are covers of Teen Idols, Nirvana and several of Weezer.
