Wo Fat
Biography
Wo Fat , whose name comes from the Hawaii Five-O series, was founded in Dallas in 2003 around Kent Stump (Guitare), Matt Watkings (Guitare / Chant), Tim Wilson (Basse) and Michael Walter (Battery) to play a Rock Heavy inspired by Black Sabbath , Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top and other 70s bands. They want to be free to improvise, to jammer, but also to play music with riffs tuned low, monolithic passages and fuzz effects. This is how the band released The Gathering Dark in 2007, then Psychedelonaut in 2009 and Noche Del Chupacabra in 2011 via Nasoni Records which will reissue their two previous albums. Wo Fat made numerous concerts in Texas and Small Stone Records, marking them for the release of The Black Code the following year. Wo Fat then toured with Abrahma to defend their last album and they released a common split in 2013 before coming among other things to the Roadburn and Desertfest in London. After a split with Egypt the same year, Wo Fat released his fifth album, The Conjuring , in 2014, which gives them a very good reputation. Tim left the band and was briefly replaced by Michale Walter (Basse) for a few months before Zack Busby joined the combo. Thus Midnight Comet h was born in 2016 via Ripple Music. Wo Fat runs in Europe, including Maryland Doom Fest and Desertfest in Belgium, as well as Australia. The band returned in 2022 with The Singularity , still signed by Ripple Music with Patrick Smith as a new bass player.
