Vader
Biography
Vader formed in 1986 in Olsztyn, Poland, and began playing Thrash Metal. As the line-up changes, the band is transforming and drifting increasingly towards Death Metal, influenced by the growing American scene and especially by Morbid Angel. In 1990, Vader released the cult demo Morbid Reich , considered the best-selling demo of all time (10,000 copies). The impact of this demo is such that Vader is approached by Western labels (including Earache Records, where the band will sign), becoming the first metal band to cross the Iron Curtain, and the very first Polish band to emerge on the world stage. Defining and spreading his country's Death Metal, Vader first served as a musical curiosity coming from a former communist country before landing as a leader of the European scene in the late 1990s, chaining tours at a crazy pace.
The 2000s will be very challenging for the band: after releasing one of its best albums with Litany, Vader will deviate from his style and lose a lot of fans. A few problems will hinder the band's career, the main one being Doc's injury, their excellent drummer present since the beginning of the band. Doc was forced to leave the band in 2005, replaced by Daray (Vesania's drummer), before dying on August 18, 2005. This does not prevent Vader from still following the tours and records, including Impressions In Blood released in 2006 and Necropolis in 2009 which re-emphasizes the coat of arms of the Polish combo. Still active, more than ever, the Poles engage with Welcome to the Morbid Reich in 2011 and Tibi&Igni in 2014, leading them to travel the roads of Europe and the world.
