The Young Gods was born in 1985 under the leadership of Franz Treichler. A guitarist of training, he abandoned his favourite instrument in order to become interested in sampler, a technological object freshly landed on the market. Desiring to counter-current conventional rock music, he founded a trio without guitar and surrounded by Cesare Pizzi and drummer Franck Bagnoud. At the release of the first eponymous album, the success was such that he was elected record of the year by the Melody Maker. In the meantime, L'Eau Rouge comes out, the second opus with a new drummer, Use Hiestand. Cesare Pizzi will pack some time later, replaced by Alain Monod.
In 1991, following a commission from the Festival du Bois de la Bâtie (Geneva), the Young Gods revisited the greatest titles by Berthold Brecht's composer Kurt Weill. We must wait until 1992 and their album Tv Sky , so that the Swiss finally achieve an international breakthrough. The big tour that followed led them to release a first live album. In 1995, wishing to satisfy their passion for the atmosphere, the band recorded Heaven Deconstruction after the release of Only Heaven . A similar project, Music For Artificial Clouds will be launched nine years later. Bernard Trontin's arrival in 2000 for the recording of Second Nature, somewhat alters the modus operandi of composition. All members are now involved in the production of the pieces. Young Gods celebrate their twenty years of career in 2005-2006 with the release of a best of with a tour. In 2010, the band became a quartet with the official induction of Vincent Hanni, who has been a tour accomplice for years. The Swiss release their new album, Everybody Knows the same anae.
