The Peacocks
Biography
Hasu Langhart : Song / Guitar Simon Langhart : Double bass Jürg : Battery
Peacocks formed in 1990 with Hasu singing/guitar, Adi drums and Michi double bass. Mainly influenced by rockabilly and psychobilly they started playing on their friends' birthdays, but stopped the band soon afterwards because of Michi's departure.
A year later they re-formed into a "family" version after the arrival of Simon, third brother Langhart, who in the meantime learned to play double bass. This line-up will last 5 years (during which the band will make about 100 concerts) and will be the first album of the band Come With Us on which punk influences are grafted to that of psychobilly.
Just before their first tour in the USA and Canada Adi decided to leave the band but was successfully replaced by David, the fourth brother who knew all the parts of the combo batteries. The tour was successful and the band returning to the old continent found a new drummer fixed in the person of Toni.
Between 1997 and 2001 the band toured everywhere where it could and did more than 300 concerts in Japan, the USA, Canada and Europe. They recorded In Without Knocking (1998) and a few years later Angel (2001), which coincided with the Swiss signing on Asian Man Records. The single "Anger And Demand" reached first place in the indie charts in Japan.
Toni left the group in 2002 to devote himself to his family and was replaced by Jürg.
It's Time For The Peacocks released in 2004 on 5 different labels (Leech, Crazy Love, Household Name, Asian Man and TV Freak) and 3 continents. Between 2004 and 2007 they once again toured everywhere (again more than 300 dates) and shared the poster with an impressive number of groups (including Bad Religion, NoFX to name but the best known). They take a small break in the United States after their visit to 14 different states to record Touch & Go, released in late 2007 on People Like You.
In early 2008 the group released Gimme More , compilations of B-sides from the recording session of Touch & Go .
