Biography

It was in 1993 that the group formed as Thule. Hoest , a founding member, was inspired as much by the metal of the 1980s as by the pioneers of black metal. After recording two demos, the band renamed itself Taake and released in 1995 and 1996 a demo and an EP, laying the bases both on the musical level and on texts: oppressive atmospheres close to cold and raw Norwegian roots. The grandiose trilogy of Nattestid Ser Porten Vid (1999), Bjoergvin (2002) and Doedskvad (2005) is followed over seven years. We expect a new album for 2006, as soon as the singer and guitarist are released from prison (!).
