Stephen O' Malley (Khanate , Lotus Eaters ) and Greg Anderson (Goatsnake , Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine ) are icons of Stoner / Doom / Drone. Sunn O)) was created in tribute to the fascinating Earth 2 , Drone Doom reference. The band republished its demos in 2005, the Grimmrobe Demos. Evolution is being felt. A bright 00 Void, a grandiose and magisterial White 1, a faster White 2 and finally a revolutionary Black 1 are the assaults of a monster who wakes up. The group is illustrated by difficult stage performances in the form of unhealthy black masses. Renowned in the middle, Sunn O))) benefits from the appearance of a large number of guests in his discography : Attila ( Mayhem), Malefic ( Xasthur ) among others... An autistic and completely unique experience with two heavy and lancinating feedback guitars. Following the Altar project linking them mainly to Boris in 2006, Sunn O))) comes back the following year with a new piece called Oracle . At the end of 2008 Domkirke arrived, live only released in LP which has the peculiarity of having been recorded in a cathedral. All this without counting multiple eps and lives released in numbers limited by Sunn O)) . Note a project parallel to Sunn O))) which gave only one concert: Pentemple , where we find the two companions and other musicians.
