Biography
The band formed in 1984 around the charismatic Chris Cornell (chant), with Matt Cameron (battery), Ben Shepherd (bass) and Kim Thayil (guitar). Soon Soundgarden won a contract with the famous Sub Pop label in Seattle (live from the grunge). Their first album. Ultramega OK comes out in 88. Their subsequent albums will be released on A&M Records, including Badmotorfinger, their first hit in 1991. Thanks to the 1994 single Black Hole Sun from the Superunkown album and sold to more than 3 million copies, they have gained worldwide recognition. In 1996, they released the album Down On The Upside before splicing. Chris Cornell will join in 2002 Audioslave , (with ex Rage Against the Machine Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk) who will record three albums before separating in 2007. The singer also recorded four solo albums with Euphoria Morning in 1999. It was in 2012 that Soundgarden returned to the forefront, notably with the song Live to Rise from the B.O. of The Avengers and then with a new record, King Animal.
