Biography
The punk/hardcore group melo has very early the vocation of political and social engagement, from its first late '99/beginning '00 in Chicago, Illinois. All of them come from various formations from the region to the developed stage, the members are led by Tim McIlrath (chant) and Dan "Precision" (guitarist and former glory of 88 Fingers Louie). The first 4-track demo opens directly to them the doors of Fat Wreck Chords, who the following year released the very first true opus of The Unravering. the group has a nice success from the first weeks after the launch of the cd... But it was only 2 years later and after a break-up in bad terms between Dan and Tim, which caused a lot of ink to flow, that Rise Against Revolutions Per Minute was released. The success is still at the rendezvous but much more pronounced this time; so much so that the band is coveted by a good half dozen majors among whom only Dreamworks will catch their attention. Against all odds, RA signs a contract with the Major and leaves Fat Wreck...
