Primal Fear
Biography
Following his unsuccessful audition at Judas Priest , former Gamma Ray Ralf Scheepers (chant) joined Sinner Mat Sinner (bass/song) and Tom Naumann (guitar) as well as drummer Klaus Sperling to found Primal Fear in 1997. After a signature on the Nuclear Blast Records label, an eponymous debut album was released in 1998. The line-up was completed with the arrival of second guitarist Stefan Leibing, with whom Jaws Of Death was recorded in 1999. Both discs are positioned in German charts and allow the band to shoot around the world. Tom Naumann announced his departure in 2000 and was replaced by Heny Wolter (ex Thunderhead ), who joined Sinner at the same time. Under this configuration appeared Nuclear Fire in 2001 and Black Sun in 2002, whose tour led to the DVD The History Of Fear. 2003 marks the return of Tom Neumann to the guitar as well as the departure of drummer Klaus Sperling and his replacement by Randy Black (ex-Annihilator). Following are the albums Devil's Ground (2004) and Seven Seals (2005), after which Primal Fear leaves Nuclear Blast to join the Frontiers Records team. In 2007, Wolter replaced Naumann a second time. New Religion was released that year, including a collaboration with singer Simone Simmons (Epica). guitarist Magnus Karlsson also appeared as a guest, before officially joining the band in 2008 following the departure of Stefan Leibing. 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead) was released in 2009, followed in 2010 by a live recording. New change in 2011 with the arrival of guitarist Alex Beyrodt ( Sinner , Silent Force ) to replace Heny Wolter, who left the previous year. This line-up was released Unbreakable in 2012 and Delivering The Black in 2014. Randy Black left the adventure in 2014. Aquiles Priester (ex-Angra) was temporarily in the position of drummer, before the arrival of Francesco Jovino (ex-U.D.O.) in 2015. Tom Naumann returned the same year, and the training went to a sextet. Rulebreaker , eleventh studio album, released in 2016. His successor, Apocalypse , was announced in August 2018, accompanied by a European tour.
