Biography

Nadja is a duo made up of multi-instrumentalists Aidan Baker, at the initiative of the project in 2003, and Leah Buckareff, ensuring the bass and singing parties. Nadja was born of Baker's desire to explore the heavy and noisy textures generated by an experimental guitar game. In order to be able to go beyond studio recordings and play on stage, Leah joins the project. As a bicephalous entity, Nadja uses and combines, electronica, epic riffs, oppressive atmospheres and exciting vocals to sublimate a music between drone, doom, metal and shoegasing. Truth Becomes Death , the duo's first album, is released on the Canadian label Alien8 ( Think About Life , Merzbow , Lesbians on Ecstasy , Francisco Lopez, Kiss Me Deadly , Les Georges Leningrad , Molasses ...). Since this first step, Nadja multiplies outings and collaborations and performs on stage alongside Kayo Dot, Knurl, Khanate, Francisco Lopez, Isis, Ocean or Bloody Panda.
