Misery Index
Biography
Misery Index is a death/grind band formed in 2001 in the United States by Jason Netherton, Kevin Talley (two former Dying Fetus) and Mike Harrison. Very quickly they record the EP Overthrow and are joined by Sparky Voyles (also an ex from Dying Fetus). In 2002 Mike Harrison and Kevin Talley were forced to leave Misery Index to focus on other projects, Matt Byers who went through Kataklysm took the place behind the drums. In 2003 Misery Index released its first album, Retaliate, the critics are very positive and the Americans go on tour in Europe and North America, they will open notably for Amon Amarth, Deicide and Nile. In 2004 a live DVD recorded in Athens, Greece, Adam Jarvis ( Pig Destroyer) became the drummer of the formation. Misery Index will participate in many festivals in 2004; Wacken Open Air, Brutal Assault, and the Party.San Open Air in particular. Their second studio album, Discordia , was released in 2006 and Misery Index is going back on tour alongside Fear Factory , Job For A Cowboy , Despised Icon or Necrophagist . In 2007 Americans pass through France with a participation in Hellfest and then travel part of Europe. In 2008 Misery Index left his third mischief, Traitors , it was recorded at God City Studios by Kurt Ballou. In 2010 Heirs to Thievery released, in 2011 Pulling Out The Nails and finally in 2014 The Killing Gods.
