Manes
Biography
Manes was created in 1992 on the initiative of Cernunus (ex-Atrox) and his friend Sargatanas. After several demos, the band released its very first album in 1999. Entitled Under Ein Blodraud Maane , released on the Hammerheart Records label, this opus features a particularly glaucous and gloomy Black Metal music. Yet the group does not sink the nail, lacking conviction in its Black lens, so Sargatanas chooses to leave Manes. Continuing his journey, Cern' ranime Manes with the help of a few musical buddies, notably from Atrox. Manes' second album created the surprise in 2003. Vilosophe appeared on the Italian label Code666 and offered a totally different music with many electronic sounds and an androgynous singer nicknamed Emil. Sharing the poster with bands as famous as Danzig, Isis, Katatonia, Red Harvest, or Theater Of Tragedy and participating in festivals like Inferno or Hole In The Sky, the band is his style and never hesitates to experiment, playing improx Drone with the duo Noise Bush Revolution or opening acoustics for Danny Cavanagh the singer of Anathema. Signed in 2007 by Candlelight Records and Debemur Morti Productions, Manes comes back with a conceptual diptych composed of How The World Cames To An End released in April, and Be All End All, which was born only seven years later after a two-year break and an essay called Manii.
