Biography
Love Is Colder than Death is a German band formed in 1990 by Ralf Donis, Maik Hartung, Sven Mertens and Susann Porter. The name refers to the 1969 film Liebe — kälter als der Tod directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. A flagship group of the Hyperium label, Love Is Colder than Death oscillates between Dark Wave and Neo-Classique. After some changes of line-up (including a succession of singers between 1995 and 2001) and a series of albums more or less crowned with success (the best known to date remains Teignmouth), the band moves towards a less dark, more tribal sound.
