Locrian
Biography
Locrian was originally a duo formed in 2005 in Chicago by André Foisy (guitar) and Terence Hannum (keyboard and voice), two musicians who had already played together in Unlucky Atlas. Combining drone and black metal with an experimental electronic sound, they continued until 2009 the recordings of cassettes, demos and 7' so many that at the moment they released their first album Drenched Lands. They then began a tour sponsored by Pitchfork magazine, and in 2010 they recorded their second album Territories, which included members of Nachystium and Yakuza. That same year Steven Hess (battery) joined the band and the trio released The Crystal World, a new album that will allow them to sign at Relapse Records in 2011 and bring their work to a wider audience. After composing three albums in collaboration with Horseback, Mamifer and Christoph Heemann, the band released a double album in 2012 consisting of reissues and new titles: The Clearing/The Final Epoch. They will start their first European tour in April 2014 with a visit to the Roadburn Festival to defend their last effort Return To Annihilation , less dark than the previous ones and released in June 2013.
