Biography
Recent discovery in rock folk, John Butler is the leader and founder of his eponymous band John Butler Trio who distils a clever mix of folk rock, pop, blues and country, for a refreshing result between Ben harper, Jack Johnson and Jeff Caudill. John was born on April 1, 1975 in Torrance, California and it was at his 10th birthday that he and his family left the United States to go to Australia. At the age of 16, he started playing guitar and later founded his own band composed of Gavin Shoesmith on bass, Jason McGann on drums, occupying the place of guitarist/singer. His first solo album, John Butler , was released in 1998, bringing him the necessary success in order to start playing in Australian clubs where he will gain growing fame thanks to intense live performances where he demonstrates his musical talents. The second album , Three , and first of the John Butler Trio was released in 2001 and offered him the status of revelation rock in Australia. After Living 2001-2002 , live album released in 2003, the third Sunrise Over Sea album was released in March 2004 in Australia. This one becomes a gold record from the moment it is released and offers a worldwide reputation to the group that follows the tours in the United States and Europe . Finally last album dates from the "Live at st Gallen" released in early 2006, a double album that allows you to discover the incredible atmosphere of the concerts of these three Australians in case you missed them.
