Interpol
Biography
Interpol was born from the meeting of Paul Banks (guitar/song), Greg Dudy (battery) and Carlos Dengler (bass/claviers) on the benches of the University of New York. By pure coincidence, Paul Banks and Daniel Kessler (guitar) meet after meeting during a stay in France. With solid frameworks, Interpol became a real group in 1998. After the first concerts in 2000, Greg left to be replaced by Sam Fogarino. In the same year, Interpol published two EPs, including Obstacle 1, self-produced by Joy Division's highly impregnated soundtracks and more generally 80's Cold Wave groups. The following year Interpol agreed with the Matador label, which launched the band's first effort, Turn On the Bright Lights, in 2002. Interpol is back in force in 2004 with Antics .
