Groundation
Biography
Harrison Stafford discovered the reggae at 9 years old, thanks to his big brother who made him listen to Rastaman Vibration, then the Wailers, Israel Vibration and Black Uhuru. He later founded Groundation in 1998, when he met two jazz students from the same university as him, Sonoma State University in North Carolina. The charismatic Harrison Stafford is singing/guitar/percu, Ryan Newman on bass and Marcus Urani on keyboards. They learn the rigor, the codes, the modes (minors, majors...), the only way to reverse or play the rule, know it on the fingertips, master it. In 2001, they recorded Each One Teach One , then Young Tree (2002), to release a monument to the modern reggae, Hebron Gate in 2003. Their fourth album, We Free Again (2004), brings them on stage around the world. In 2005, they released Dub Wars, a 9-title, then the 5th stone of the building, Upon The Bridge. Last year, in parallel, they recorded a Tribute to Bob Marley.
