Funeral For A Friend
Biography
Matt Davies - Song Darran Smith - Guitar Kris Coombs - Guitar Gavin Burrough - Bass Ryan Richards - Battery
Funeral For A Friend, despite a resolutely Us sound, is not American. Funeral For A Friend is Welsh. First titled January Third, the combo took its current form in 2001, after Matt Davies replaced Michael Davis. "Funeral For A Friend" is chosen as a name because of a title of Planes Mistaken For Stars for some, unless it is a word of Elton John (!). The band first recorded two ep Between Order and Model (2002) and Four Ways to Scream Your Name (2003), assisted by Welsh actors. Welcome is good, the band wins the award of the "best new British band" in the magazine Kerrang. He recorded his first album: Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation , produced and mixed by Colin Richardson ( Sepultura , As I day Lying ). The band's sound draws the attention of Atlantic Records and leads to an agreement to release its second effort Hours (2005) with Terry Date at the controls. Success is on the table. FFAF has access to the course of the greats and plays the Warped Tour and Taste Of Chaos with all the sizes of the emcore genre. Tales Don't Tell Themselves followed in 2007. For the latest, Memory and Humanity, the band changed its plans and opted for a co-production signed Victory Records and Roadrunner.
