Empire Empire I Was A Lonely Estate
Biography
Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) was created in 2006 and is characterized by a voice and guitar, the solo project of Keith Latinen. He released in 2007 the very personal When The Sea Became A Giant and began to make a name for himself within the Emo / Indie inspired by bands from the 90s like Mineral or American Football. The same year Cathy Latinen (Chant / Guitar), Ahmad Nabuls (Basse / Chant) and Jon Steinhoff (Battery) complete the line-up, allowing them to record in 2008 a first 7'': Year Of The Rabbit. What It Takes To Move Forward is 2009, the first long format album, sounds like the consecration of their music. especially since Keith founded the Count Your Lucky Stars label on which most of the band's productions came out. Project with variable geometry, Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) finally focuses on the Keith/Cathy couple even though other musicians sometimes come to support them during live performances. For five years there are an impressive amount of tracks recorded on various eps or splits with among others Football Etc, Annabel, Arrows, Mountains For Clouds, Rika, Malegoat or Joie De Vivre. Several concerts are also held in the United States or Europe with The World Is A Beautiful Place&I Am No Longer Afrid To Die, Brave Bird, Dowsing, Dikembe, Tigers Jaw, Chalk Talk, Nai Harvest or Gnarwolves. The duo finally returned with a second album entitled You Will Eventually Be Forgotten in 2014, accompanied by a novel written by Keith.
