Eluvium
Biography
Behind Eluvium's sobriquet is a man, Matthew Cooper, from Kentucky (USA). Behind his music, stands an Ambient wall at the edge of Electronica and Shoegaze, while evoking Fennesz or Brian Eno. His discography travels in clear waters, often taking an ethereal turn, offering, even, the time of some songs (An Accidental Memory In Case Of Death, 2004) pure and simple piano notes; a classic and minimalist work that recalls Peter Broderick or Olafur Arnalds .
Matthew Cooper also released an album under his real name, Miniatures (2008). This record has no other specificity but to have been composed in a different state of mind and even if the result is close to what Eluvium can do, it was important for his author to make appear another personality as such.
Note, finally; behind the magnificent artworks that adorn the covers of Eluvium, is Jeannie Paske , cartoonist and photographer of the composer.
