Electric Wizard
Biography
It was in 1993 that Electric Wizard was formed, a group evolving in a powerful and hypnothic Stoner / Doom. Despite an unstable line-up, the English released in 1995 an eponymous album that was not noticed but already laid the foundation for what would become a cult band. It was in 1997, with Come My Fanatics... that the band revealed itself and imposed its style. After two EPs, including a split with Orange Goblin, the band released Dopethrone, cult album considered by many as the masterpiece of Electric Wizard, who will take them on the road with Warhorse. A year after this master piece, the Saxons return with Let Us Prey , an experimental album that receives a mixed reception from the press and the public. After many line-up worries, the band returned in 2004 under the name of Electric Wizard by releasing the very successful We Live . In 2007 the English released Witchcult Today, a traditional album recorded in the technical conditions of the 1970s. This follows a series of reissues of their previous opus in LP. After a change of bass player, the combo returned with Black Masses at the end of 2010 in a vein close to Witchcult Today and performed in several European festivals including Hellfest. But in 2012 the line-up changes unbalanced the group that welcomes Glen Charman to bass and Simon Poole to battery. An ep Legalise Drugs & Murder also comes out with Rise Above Records and Mark Greening who had left the band in 2003 to found Ramesses, returns to the combo. Electric Wizard is working on a new album, Time To Die , released at the end of 2014. Since then, Mark Greening has been asked to leave the band, Simon Poole has resumed his drummer position and the current bassist is Clayton Burgess (Satan's Satyrs).
