Elder
Biography
Elder formed in 2006 in the Massachussets in the United States of the meeting between Matt Couto (Battery), Jack Donovan (Basse) and Nick Dissalvo (Guitare / Chant). The band thus presents itself in the form of a trio of young and talented musicians fed with big bowls by Kyuss , Colour Haze for the stoner side and other Sleep and Black Sabbath for heavier and heavy atmospheres. After a demo released in 2007, the band released its first eponymous album in 2008 and laid the foundations for its atypical and singular universe music. One oscillates between rhythms borrowed from the doom, sounds referenced stone in the grain of the guitars and a psychedelic-ambiant side in the melodic evolution of certain passages. One of the peculiarities of the group is the length of the pieces that rarely fall within 10 minutes. In 2011 Dead Roots Stirring was released on Meteorcity Records. Although the influences are always the same, the trio evolves its music in a rather radical way and is definitely its personality. The song becomes only clear and the songs gain in dynamism what they lose in darkness. Their latest album, Lore released in 2015 at Stickman Records and Armageddon Shop, following the excellent ep Spire Burns / Release , continues in the same vein as his predecessor by pushing even further the bright atmospheres while maintaining this pachydermic dynamism unique to the band.
