Dornenreich
Biography
Dornenreich is an Austrian combo formed in 1996 by brothers Thomas "Valnes" Stock, and Jochen "Evíga" Stock. Joined by Moritz "Gilvan" Neuner, they released their first Full-Length Nicht Um Zu Sterben on Prophecy Productions. They then played a Black Metal Melodic and ambiance, and followed the releases to Her Von Welken Nächten in 2001 and Hexenwind in 2005 which marked a musical break. With these two albums, Dornenreich is moving towards a dark Folk Metal, influenced by bands like Agalloch. Moritz Neuner left the band in 2001 (to come back in 2009) and Thomas Stock in 2005. In addition, the band included a violinist musician, Thomas Riesner (aka Inve) as a permanent member of the Line-Up. After two new albums and a live DVD titled Nachtreisen released Flammentriebe in 2011, which marks a return to a more crude Black Metal, but still influenced by Neo-Folk.
