Dismember
Biography
The story of Dismember began as that of many young groups: in 1988, after a few months of existence, the group was put back, the time for some members to focus on Carnage , another Death Metal group whose existence turns out to be short. Initially, Dismember crystallised around the trio Fred Estby (Battery), David Bmlomqvist (Guitare - ex Entombed), Robert Sennebäck (Guitare / Chant - ex Necrophobic , ex Unleashed ). A first demo was recorded in 1988 with the help of Erik Gustafsson on bass. A second demo, without bass, also released the same year entitled Dismembered . Then in 1989, the trio followed with three demos: Last Blasphemies , Rehearsal , then Reborn In Blasphemy who saw Matti Kärki's arrival as a singer. Richard Cabeza will be recruited in 1991 as a bass player for the very first Swedish mischief: Like An Everflowing Stream, which appears at Nuclear Blast Records and quickly finds itself the focus of a solid fan base. Pieces , the following year, confirmed the first steps of the first opus, and increased the reputation of the combo and laid the foundations of a new genre: the Scandinavian Death Metal. Yet, the true success for Dismember came with Indecent And Obscene in 1993, whose single Dreaming In Red was captured on MTV on the famous Headbanger's Ball. The next opus, Massive Killing Capacity of 1995, slows down the tempo like most of the Nordic bands of the time but the truce is short-lived: Death Metal , fourth opus of Dismember , reconnects the batteries, followed by Hate Campaign in 2000 with the help of a third guitarist unqiuement present for this album: Magnus Sahlgren. In 2004, shortly before the arrival in the bacs of Where Ironcrosses Grow, the Swedish people signed at Karmageddon Records and the result was an album inspired by Iron Maiden and Autopsy. Change of scenery in 2005 with a passage on Regain Records that redeems the rights of the first opus and reissues the albums which increases the popularity of the band. The God That Never Was, in the continuity of the two previous ones, but without the presence of Richard Cabeza (Base) debunked early 2006 and ended up with a tour with Entombed, Unleashed and Exterminator. There is a third guitarist, Martin Persson. Fred Estby (Battery) left Dismember the following year for family reasons and was replaced by Thomas Daun. In the footsteps Tobias Cristiansson also arrives at bass and Martin Persson is still present as the third guitarist. Thus, Dismember was born in April 2008, quickly followed by a tour that culminated in the Under Bloodred Skies DVD, images of which came from the San Open Air festival and concerts in Holland. After 23 years in the service of Death-Metal, Dismember decided to cease operations in October 2011. In January 2019, the Swedish announced their return with the original line-up: Fred Estby (Battery), David Blomqvist (Guitare), Robert Sennebäck (Guitare), Matti Kärki (Chant) and Richard Cabeza (Basse).
