Coldplay
Biography
It was in 1996 that London students Chris Martin (Chant / Guitar / Piano), Jonny Buckland (Guitare), Guy Berryman (Basse) and Will Champion (Battery) formed Coldplay. Our four friends decide to give up their respective studies in order to devote themselves to music. A sacrifice that will bear fruit because after squishing the bars, the band finally released its first ep, Safety , very soon joined in 1999 by Brothers&Sisters and The Blue Room E.P. , which allow them to sign at Parlophone. In May 2000, they released their first opus: Parachutes. After first unnoticed, the album is finally considered one of the best Pop-Rock records of the year 2000 and reaps several rewards. With a great success in the United States and England (among others), the band decided to leave behind to record their second album, encircling the same team as Parachutes . Thus, in August 2002, A Rush Of Blood To The Head was released. Acclaimed by critics and fans, the album receives a more than warm welcome, chaining the tubes. Then came a world tour, culminating in the release of a dvd in 2003, named soberly Live 2003 , featuring a live in Sydney and various footballs filmed during the tour. Known throughout the world, the group is aware of the responsibility of celebrity, and is involved in a number of charitable activities, including Make Trade Fair (for fair trade) and Live 8 (for poverty reduction in Africa). After the triumph of A Rush Of Blood To The Head, the band decided to totally isolate the world of show business for "a return to the sources", and it was in the most total prison that Coldplay composed then what would be their third opus, which appeared in the bins in June 2005: X&Y. This third album is the largest tour ever made by the band. In 2006, Chris martin took a short break to work on collaborations and it was in 2008 that Coldplay made a change in his music by promoting more complex arrangements and tracks. This complements the album Viva La Vida and the ep Prospekt's March with a cover of Lost! in duo with Jay-Z. The album received rather a good reception and permanently devoted the English to the status of international Pop group. Despite rumors about the separation of the band, Coldplay is back on the way to the studios in collaboration with Brian Eno. The album is late and finally released in October 2011. Mylo Xyloto , following the journey of an imaginary character who evolves in an oppressive urban environment, fully reveals the attraction for the band to electronic sounds and clearly marks a lighter and dancing musical turn. The stadium tour continues in 2012 in Europe and the United States, leading to the release of Live 2012 recorded at the Pyramid Stage at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival. More discreet the following year, Coldplay made an amazing comeback in 2014 with Ghost Stories , sixth studio production at the foot of their last tracks. The album is more introspective with a quieter and minimalist music.
