Child Abuse
Biography
Oran Canfield (Battery) Luke Calzonetti (Clavier, Chant) Tim Dahl (Basse)
The bases laid, Oran Canfield and Luke Calzonnetti move from San Francisco to Brooklyn to develop Child Abuse. It is the meeting with Tim Dhal that makes the band switch to its final version. Now New Yorkers claim multiple influences, ranging from early electro, to Man Is The Bastard punk, Monk, Beefheart, jazz and metal, and like to see themselves as "maximumists". Child Abuse also stands out by the improvisation of most lyrics. In 2007, Child Abuse released a first album noticed on Lovelump Records / Rococo Records. The trio then crossed The Flying Wrestlers, White Mice, The Oh Sees, Genghis Tron and Little Women. With Cut And Run ( Lovelump Records), Child Abuse definitely imposes its brand. In 2009, Oran Canfield published Long Past Stopping: A Memoir's book on dysfunctional families treated with humour and based on his chaotic childhood.
