Cerberus Shoal
Biography
A native of Boston, Cerberus Shoal would almost deserve the benefit of being a collective to that of a full-fledged group. From its first heartbeat in 1994 to its last breath in the mid-2000s, the composition has evolved over the years, from albums and styles around a core of three musicians. Over a dozen members will thus navigate the entourage of Chriss Sutherland, Caleb Mulkerin and Tom Rogers over the course of the decade of their exploration of musical currents ranging from Emo/India to the unbridled Folk through Post Rock and improvisation. Driven by a thirst for boundless experimentation and high productivity, the variable geometry group will release no less than 9 albums in 11 years as well as several splits. The latest was the good one, his, which followed the 2005 release of The Land We Believe In. The record, well received, will therefore remain the last date of the project, Fire on Fire having since taken over, still in the folk vein explored by Cerberus Shoal over his last years.
