Carnifex

Carnifex was born in San Diego, California in 2005 by Scott Lewis (Chant) joined by Shawn Cameron (Battery), Rick James (Guitare) and Kevin Vargas (Basse). The combo then mounts a Deathcore band influenced by Brutal Death Metal and Grindcore wanting to be very violent, heavy and frontal like other bands of the scene such as Job For A Cowboy, Suicide Silence or Whitechapel. A first demo was released in 2005, distributed at the first local concerts. In September 2006, Rick James and Kevin Vargas left the band but were replaced in their respective positions by Travis Whiting and Steve McMahon to record a first ep at the end of 2006: Love Lies In Ashes. Cory Arford took the place of Rick James' guitarist before Dead In My Arms, their first album, was released in 2007 under the label This City Is Burning Records. Carnifex makes a name and turns with Emmure , Whitechapel and MyChild MyBride in particular. But Steve McMahon and Jake Anderson also left, replacing Fred Calderon and Ryan Gudmunds. The Victory Records label was very interested in their music, and Carnifex released its second opus in June 2008, entitled The Diseased And The Poisoned , which greatly increased the band's recognition. The Americans toured more than 22 countries with The Black Dahlia Murder , Despised Icon , Warbringer , Parkway Drive , Architects , Darkest Hour and many others. They returned in early 2010 with Hell Those Me their third opus and the following year with Until I feel Nothing. In 2012, the group decided to take a break. It was in 2013 that Carnifex will talk about him again with the announcement of a huge tour and the recording of a new album resolutely darker. This is how Die Without Hope will be released in 2014. The tours follow each other and go on for the band including Suicide Silence , Thy art is Murder , Whitechapel , and 2016 will reward them with a sixth Slow Death.
