Cancer Bats
Biography
Formed in May 2004 by Liam Cormier (Chant) and Scott Middleton (Guitare, At The Mercy Of Inspiration), Cancer Bats was intended to form a project mixing Hardcore and Hard Rock. Soon joined by Andrew McCraken (Basse) and Joel Bath (Batterie), the Canadians recorded a first demo in early 2005, with a sound tending towards a Hardcore Metalized in The Banner's vein. Soon Mike Peters replaced Joel Bath and the concerts followed, in the first part of Alexisonfire, Billy Talent, Comeback Kid or Gallows. Running 2006, Birthing The Giant , on which we can find in guest George Pettit of Alexisonfire , debunks in the bins, supported by the label Distort Entertainment . After a slight change of line up, Jason Bailey ( Figure Four , Shattered Realm ) took the position of bassist, quickly replaced by Jaye Schwarzer ( Left Behind , Reefer Cathedral ), a second opus, Hail Destroyed , disembarked in April 2008. There are still a few guests (Wade MacNeil by Alexisonfire , Tim McIrath by Rise Against or Benjamin Kowalewicz by Billy Talent ), as well as a clip for the song "Deathmarch". Several concerts follow, including the Download Festival, Groezrock or tours with Funeral For a Friend or Bleeding Through. The third opus, Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones , was recorded and released in early 2010, supported by a video for their cover of "Sabotage" (Beastie Boys ).
