Brutal Truth
Biography
Brutal Truth is a monument of the International Grindcore. About the same as Napalm Death, Nasum or Carcass. Formed in 1990 in New York by Dan Liliker (ex-Anthrax), with whom Brent McCarthy and Scott Lewis are associated, Brutal Truth is at the beginning only a side-project of the great hair still full-time within Nuclear Assault. In a flash, Earache jumps on the group that suddenly changes status. The first album Extreme Conditions Demands Extreme Responses propells Brutal Truth to the outposts of the international scene, winning the most prominent formations of the moment such as Pungent Stench, Napalm Death, Carcass or Cathedral. After the release of Godplayer, New Yorkers change cream for Relapse. Some productions will be released on the label, but Brutal Truth splits in 1999. The hiatus will last seven years. In 2006, the band reformed with Lilker, Sharp and Hoaks. Only McCarthy, replaced by Erik Burke ( Lethargy) is missing. We have to wait until 2008 for the quartet to compose. Four tracks appear on this Comp Kills Fascists compilation. In 2009, Brutal Truth released a new album, Evolution Through Revolution . On their launch the Americans will release End of Time in 2011, then a new split with Bastard Noise. At the beginning of 2014, Dan Lilker announced that the band was embarking on a final tour and finally stopping the adventure.
