Broken Bones
Biography
Bones - Oddy guitar - Quiv bass - Dave singing - drums
Broken Bones was born in Stoke-On-Trent in 1983 at the instigation of Bones, a few months after his departure from Discharge. His brother Tezz (ex-discharge ) on bass, Nobby (chant) and Baz (battery) complete the line up. Boosted by an intense year of concerts, the band forged a solid reputation that allowed it to reach the top ten of independent charts with Decapitated , the first single released in 1984. His successor Crucifix suffered the same fate.
For his first album, Broken Bones got the services of Mike Stone, producer of Discharge. The result is up to the expectations of Dem Bones becoming very quickly a classic of the genre. But the combo has to face an important turn over. Oddy, who replaced Tezz just before recording the first album must also ensure the song following the defection of Nobby. However, this situation is only temporary. The departure of Oddy for Conflict in 1986 led to the return of Tezz and Nobby, joined by a second guitarist, Karl Morris (Exploited ) for the recording of the album F.O.A.D. Influenced by the wave of cross-overs that swept through this half of the Eighties, Broken Bones took a much more thrash metal direction on Losing Control in 1989 as well as for Stitched Up. After a nine-year hiatus, the band resurfaced in 1998 around Bones (guitar), Oddy (bass), Quiv with singing and Dave with drums. Broken Bones started a series of concerts and a European tour, but only joined the studios in 2001 for the recording of Without Consciousness. His successor Time For Anger, Not Justice, was born only in 2004.
