Biography
The archive route is, in many ways, chaotic and unstable. Born in 1994 around Darius Keller, Rosco John, Danny Griffiths and Roya Arab, the band released Londinium in 1996, but internal tensions and some difficulties with their record company led them to split. Darius and Danny still continue with a new singer, Suzanne Wooder, moving away from the original trip hop to get closer to the pop but again, Take My Head, released in 1999, sounds like a failure for the band. It was during this period that Craig Walker (former singer of Power Of Dreams) joined the band, replacing Suzanne with the song. The trio is finally assembled and gives birth to a monument: You All Look The Same To Me comes out in 2002 and is defined by the band as what is finally Archive . Between trip hop, electro, rock and pop their music is dark, melodic, hypnotizing, grandiose ... The critics are unanimous, this third album has much of the masterpiece. In 2003, Michel Vaillant's bo came out which, even if in my opinion still remains very far from You All Look The Same To Me , consolidates Archive in a training status apart from ... Often compared to Pink Floyd or Radiohead, the band was able to build a universe and style that were their own. In April 2004, Noise appeared that once again failed to convince the general public. Today, the original band remains only Keller and Griffiths who have surrounded themselves with many musicians and vocalists to produce their latest album: Lights.
