Apparat
Biography
Apparat is Sascha Ring, Dj and German composer of electronic music, active on the Berlin scene since the late 1990s. He is with Marco Haas aka T.Raumschmiere co-founder of the label Shitkatapult. In 2001, he released Multifunktionsebene a first jet with already very dark atmospheres, which will be followed the following year by Tttrial And Error , essay with the strong Autechre relays and more precisely of their album Chiastic Slide , but also Aphex Twin , will come in 2003 Duplex , which is still one of the best opus of the man, in which we find both complex and difficult to digest songs and other more melodic and airy ones. Follow several EP Can't Computerize It , Shapemodes , Silizium , and collaborations including that with Ellen Allien (with whom he has already worked on Berlinette ) on the album Orchestra of Bubbles , before Apparat reverberates on the ring with Walls , we are in 2007 and the evolution of his music is actually being felt, more pop than in the past, it tends to get closer to bands like Slowdive or M83 . In 2011, Apparat signed on the English label Mute Records (Depeche Mode , Goldfrapp ...) for his new opus The Devil's Walk , with an ever more pop accent, the one who derives his name from a poem by the British Percy Bysshe Shelley, received a very mixed welcome, however one will notice the very nice duo with Anja Plaschg aka Soap&skin on the title Goodbye . Two years later, Ring attacked Krieg und Frieden (understanding War and Peace), and again failed to convince in this interpretation of Tolstoy's work, the so-called specialist critics accusing him of becoming increasingly tearing and predictable.
