A Place To Bury Strangers
Biography
A Place To Bury Strangers is an American trio based in Brooklyn that distills a psychedelic rock on the border of the shoegaze ( My Bloody Valentine ) and post punk ( Joy Division, The Jesus And Mary Chain ). Remarked in 2006, Oliver Ackermann (guitar, singing), Jay Space (battery) and Jono MOFO (bass) gained their reputation thanks to their abducted shows (with The Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2006, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in 2007, Nine Inch Nails in 2008), which earned them the most subjective band title playing live. Released in the US in 2007, their first album, eponymous, was released in Europe in 2008 and participated in the revival shoegaze of the late 1980s. The band was quickly censored by critics and also turned on the Old Continent, confirming its ambitions and fame before releasing Exploding Head in 2009. Among other hobbies, frontman Oliver Ackermann has a home pedal stores (Death by Audio) which supplies his group and several others (U2 , Lightning Bolt , My Bloody Valentine , Wilco ) with all kinds of equipment.
