Dutch black metal band Embraced By Darkness has released a new lyric video for their single 'Darkness Awaits', preceding the upcoming debut full-length album 'Ex Inferis'.

The track delves into existential voids and the emotional solace found within them, an evocative theme characteristic of the band's sound.

'I sought to create lyrics that explored the moment when life felt hollow and fleeting,' remarks Schmerz, guitarist for Embraced By Darkness. 'In contemplating death, I discovered a strange sense of relief a stillness that transcended life's turmoil.'

This concept reflects the themes often associated with black metal, echoing the album's intended exploration of despairing introspection and existential crises.

'Ex Inferis' is set to be released on October 31, 2025, via Non Serviam Records, in formats including Digipak CD, vinyl, and digital.
