Alexisonfire Pays Tribute to Rusty with Canadian-Influenced Cover
Alexisonfire continue to celebrate their Canadian roots with the premiere of their cover of Rusty's 1995 single 'Misogyny'.
The track is part of the upcoming EP 'Copies Of Old Masters: Volume 1', which features a reimagining of songs from influential Canadian artists. The EP is set to be released on November 07th via Dine Alone Records.
Frontman George Pettit shared his thoughts on the cover, stating:
'It's 1996 and you love snowboarding, rock and roll, and sexual puns flash back to a MuchMusic special called Snow Job 96 where Rusty played 'Misogyny' at the base of a ski hill on live television. YouTube it, and imagine a 16-year-old version of yourself immediately getting dreadlocks the next day'.
The EP track-list includes:
01 Neighbourhood Villain (Doughboys cover)
02 Cuz (Shallow North Dakota cover)
03 Fully Completely (The Tragically Hip cover)
04 Misogyny (Rusty cover)
The release marks the continuation of Alexisonfire's exploration of their Canadian heritage and legacy, as they pay homage to influential artists and tracks that have shaped their sound.
