1914 Unveils Hauntingly Powerful Single '(The Siege of Przemysl)'

With their upcoming album 'Viribus Unitis' set to drop on November 14, 2025, via Napalm Records, the Ukrainian death metal band 1914 is now releasing their second single.
'1914 (The Siege of Przemysl)' delves into one of history's most brutal and forgotten events - the longest siege of World War I - that resulted in the tragic overthrow of the Austro-Hungarian army. The band infuses this historical narrative with unrelenting doom riffs and ghostly soundscapes, forging a sonic journey through the grim realities of war.
The concept album 'Viribus Unitis' tells the story of a Ukrainian soldier's experience in the K.u.K. army during World War I, spanning a timeline from 1914 to 1919. Drawing inspiration from real events and personal accounts, 'Viribus Unitis' paints a somber picture of war's devastating consequences.
According to Ditmar Kumarberg, Gefreiter of k.u.k. Galizisches IR Nr.15, the single '1914 (The Siege of Przemysl)' captures the despair and desperation faced by 130,000 Austro-Hungarian soldiers during the siege. The band's sound is unflinchingly brutal, conjuring images of a city under siege with artillery pounding, food scarcity, disease spreading, and finally, the collapse of morale leading to surrender.
In a war that demonstrates no mercy, '1914 (The Siege of Przemysl)' stands as a testament to the enduring power of history's darkest moments. With its hauntingly powerful soundscapes and masterful storytelling, 1914 invites listeners to confront the realities of war and its human toll.
