Canadian progressive metal band Omnivide is set to release their most ambitious work to date with their upcoming EP 'Arise', scheduled for release on 10th October via Seek & Strike.
The band's lead single, 'Void', marked by a striking performance video, brings together the group's onstage intensity with intricate, hand-drawn animations that mirror the track's dramatic interplay of light and dark. A full preview of the video can be viewed below.
Omnivide states: Our first single, Void, was the first song that began to take shape at the beginning of the writing process for the EP, so it has a lot of the foundational characteristics that inspired the rest of the songs. It has technical riffs, a contrast of high intensity and laid-back sections, orchestral arrangements, a mix of harsh and clean vocals and a crushing guitar solo. Overall, it encapsulates our intentions with the music for this EP, which is why we choose it as a lead single. It also has the most direct link to the lyrical theme of the EP, being about overcoming inner limitations and external adversity in lifes most dire situations. It vividly expresses the desperation felt in times of seemingly insurmountable struggle, the refusal to give up no matter how badly the odds are stacked against us and the growth that takes place when one chooses to face such challenges.
With 'Arise', Omnivide elevate the sonic palette laid out in their 2024 debut album A Tale Of Fire, building upon a foundation of progressive, melodic, death, and symphonic metal that garnered critical acclaim and launched the band's rise. Their extensive international tour across Canada, culminating in Music NB Awards nominations for 'Breakthrough Artist' and 'Song of the Year', solidified their growing momentum.
Now, with Arise, the group raise the stakes, pushing deeper into progressive and symphonic territory while maintaining the technical edge that has become a hallmark of their sound. Drawing influence from acts like Between The Buried And Me, Opeth, and TesseracT, Omnivide seamlessly blend brutality and beauty in equal measure.
Omnivide adds: Arise is a major evolution from our debut album A Tale Of Fire. We took the elements we loved most from that first release and cranked them up another level. We really wanted to outdo ourselves on this one and we all felt ready to make something better in a shorter time frame. People can expect more techy riffs, bigger orchestral arrangements, more progressive song structures and more clean singing to complement the harsh vocals. The EP also features a range of ups and downs in intensity, transitioning seamlessly from intense brutality to subdued, melodic sections throughout each track.
With Arise, Omnivide pushes themselves further than ever, delivering a thrilling balance of technicality, melody, and emotional depth. The EP reinforces their reputation as one of the most exciting rising forces in modern progressive metal.
