Oxnard, CA-based crossover thrash band Dead Heat has set an October 10th release date for their forthcoming album, Process Of Elimination. In a statement regarding the choice of opener, frontman Chris Ramos explained: I wanted to start Process... with a song that hits hard and features an excellent flow. Perpetual Punishment speaks to not waste your time in life because tomorrow is never guaranteed. If there's something you want to do, seize the moment - don't let fear hold you back. This sentiment resonates deeply with me as I continually express through lyrics and stage banter.
Guitarist Justin Ton commented on the album's overall direction: Our music has become increasingly complex, both in composition and performance. As individuals, we're striving to improve as musicians, which shows in our work and live presence. The sound blends metal and hardcore elements with an intentional shift towards a more aggressive tone.
Ramos added his perspective on addressing social issues addressed through the music: We stand against all forms of bigotry. Our history and backgrounds have instilled within us the importance of unity, equality, and justice. This is reflected in our lyrics, aiming to convey diverse viewpoints. Process Of Elimination holds varied themes throughout, reflecting my growth as a songwriter.
